Ghost Towns of Morrow County was the topic of our October meeting, presented by Ann Artrip and Dan Rhodebeck. Ann shared a brief history of the five ghost towns along the Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati (CC&C) Railroad between the Crawford County line and Edison. Dan gave an overview of different classifications of ghost towns used by Richard M Helwig and Richard N Helwig in their 1991 book “Ghost Towns of Morrow County” and of the research that was done to find Morrow County’s ghost towns. Dan displayed several books and maps, including one previously displayed at the fair showing over 50 ghost towns or lost communities in Morrow County.
