DENTON, FARRINGTON, MOORE posted by Kaye Moore Coller on Friday, May 9, 1997

My gr. grandfather, James William DENTON came to the US when he was about 4 yrs. old. I don't have a date of birth, but it would be around 1860. He may have been born in Bardham, England (or Bardon, Bardly, something like that) but I don't know where that is. Complicating things even further is that his mother's name may not have been DENTON. They settled in Cardington, Morrow County, Ohio where he died in 1953. His wife was Mary Francis FARRINGTON. They had 4 children. Bertha b. 1888 d. 1970; Daisy Bell (my grandmother) b. 1890 d.1971; Edith Rose b. 1897 d. 1952; Clarence b. 1902 d. ?. Daisy married Frank Homer MOORE. They had one son, my father. Walter Denton MOORE b. 1911, still living. I have more information on Mary & James' children & a lot more about the FARRINGTON's, but I haven't been able to find out anything prior to my great grandfather. Did he have siblings? What was his mother's name? Who was his father and what happened to him? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

BROWN posted by Jeanne T. Lane on Sunday, May 25, 1997

Searching for siblings and other family members of Elisha and Rhoda BROWN. They were in Marion County, OH in the 1830 Census and remained there until the mid 1850's,then removed to Cedar Co. IA where Elisha died in 1868. Rhoda moved to Greene County, IA where she died in 1880. Both Elisha and Rhoda were born and married in PA. Elisha BROWN was a Justice of the Peace in Marion County. Known children are Zenas, Ebennezer, Permelia, Elizabeth and Marilla. I think there is at least one other daughter. I know that there were a good many BROWN families in the area and feel that they were probably related.

THEOPHILUS posted by Paige Theophilus on Sunday, May 25, 1997

My husband was born on September 13, 1970 in Mt. Gilead (Morrow County Hospital). He was put up for adoption and was adopted by a family in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Knox County. We have seen the hospital in Mt. Gilead and can't imagine that many babies are born there each day and wonder if anyone knows anything about a little boy born there on 9/13/70. No info from adoptive parents. He was told his mother was an unwed teenager. Can we search records at the hospital there or is this not allowed? Any info is greatly appreciated.
